Bonnie Jean LaLone, 75, of
Williamsburg died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007,
at Munson Medical Center with her family
by her side after battling a long illness.
Bonnie was born June 15, 1932, in Flint
to Bill and Pauline (Seymour) Wheatley.
Bonnie married Eugene C. LaLone Sr. on
Oct. 20, 1951, in Pontiac. They spent many
years in the Flint and Detroit areas, finally
moving to Grand Traverse County in the
1970s.
Bonnie spent her life helping others; she
loved life and her family and had an optimistic
attitude even in her final days.
Bonnie is well remembered for her great
passion for her garden and landscaping
work. She would spend many hard-working
hours outside in her yard. She also had
a great talent for restoring antique furniture
and decorating her home.
Bonnie worked for many years as a
teaching assistant for handicapped children
in both Royal Oak and Traverse City. She
was also employed doing office work.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 55
years, Eugene LaLone; daughters, Cynthia
(Dennis) Agusti of St. Clair Shores and
Vickie (Gregory) Wolfe of Traverse City;
son, Eugene (Kerry) LaLone Jr. of Elk
Rapids; grandchildren, Marcus (Katrina)
and Anthony Agusti, Kyle, Alexander and
Katherine LaLone, Justin and Jenna Wolfe;
great-grandchildren, Amber and Austin
Agusti; sister, Judy (Harold) Blanchard;
and brothers, Robert (Sally), Shelby (Ruth)
and Steve Wheatley; and many nieces and
nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her
parents; brother, Wilburn; daughter,
Katherine Elizabeth; and granddaughter,
Tiffany Ann Wolfe.
Visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m. and
6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, at
Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids. Funeral
services were held at 11 a.m. Friday,
Jan. 12, 2007, at Covell Funeral Home with
Pastor Jay Koehler officiating.
Memorials may be given in Bonnie's
name to Grace Lutheran Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids.
