Robert was born on Nov. 24, 1945, to James Earl and Sophie M. (Lichaczewski) Standerfer. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a self-employed contractor. He was a member of the Elk Rapids AMVETS Post 114, and he also enjoyed hunting.

Robert is survived by his daughter, Christen (Scott) Korstange, and granddaughter, Amara Korstange, of Allendale; brother James E. (Judith) Standerfer of Elk Rapids; and nieces and nephews, Anthony J. (Christine) Standerfer, James E. (Mary) Standerfer III, and Angela (Albert) Vasquez.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the home of AMVETS Post 114, and the date and time will be announced in the spring. Memorials may be given in Robert's name to AMVETS Post 114 in Elk Rapids.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids.
