Slippery Sail

An ice boat takes to Elk Lake during the Grand Traverse Ice Yacht Club's annual Fun Regatta held March 15 and 16 at the Whitewater Township park in Williamsburg. The event featured racing, door prizes and photo shoots. Ice boating in Michigan traces its history back 122 years, when Gull Lake in lower Michigan hosted some of the fastest ice boats in the world.
