Obituaries PUBLISHED: All those who knew Hank were aware of his passion for hunting and fishing. He was always anxious to share his experiences with both old and young alike. Numerous youngsters benefited from his knowledge of the outdoors. Hank excelled in many individual sports such as waterskiing, snowskiing and swimming. He was very good on a trampoline and was an avid scuba diver. His love for the water and boating was evident in the time spent on Torch Lake and on his boat, "Goosebumps," on the Great Lakes. Hank became involved with the Farmington Glen Aquatic Club as a youngster when he was his father's right hand man and remained a dedicated member all his life. He served several times as president, but was better known for his devotion to preserving and upgrading the club. Hank is survived by his wife, JoAnn; sons Michael and Frank (Cam); daughter Ellee; mother Audrey - all of Farmington Hills; father-in-law Alben Gross; mother-in-law Gertrude Gross - both of Elk Rapids, Mich.; sister Terri (Doug Foster); brother Greg (LeeAnn); nephews Court, Austin and Andrew; sister-in-law Nancy Allard (Jon); nephews Andrew and Joseph; sister-in-law Lisa Woodley (David); nephew Logan; niece Natalie; and sister-in-law Mary Gross. He is preceded in death by his father, Frank C. Murtland, Jr. An open house will be held at Farmington Glen Aquatic Club, 33500 Freedom Road, Farmington, 48335 on Saturday, May 10, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. An "Honorary Celebration of Hank" will begin at 4 p.m. The family has requested that donations be made to the following: Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute c/o Development Office, 4100 John R., Detroit, MI 48201; the University of Michigan, Department of Radiation Oncology, 3621 S.
